Stone Objects
The stone objects collected at Hakemi Use can be divided into two groups
such as the Chipped-stone and Ground stone industries . The raw material
of the chipped-stone objects of Hakemi Use is obsidian and flintstone.
Majority of chipped-stone objects are blade and bladelets. In addition
to these, flakes and small number of cores are collected. The majority
of the chipped-stone objects indicate to farming. Stone objects which
can be evaluated as armor is small in number. There are flintstone strata
at ca. 15-20km to Hakemi Use; while the nearest obsidian strata are
the ones in the vicinity of the Van Lake to ca. 250-300 km east.
Small Finds
The women and bull figurines made of clay are significant within the
small finds collected in the excavations. The women figurines which
are collected as being broken and left in the garbage have high crowns.
Parallels to these figurines are collected in the Hassuna levels at
Yarim Tepe I in the Sincar Valley in Northern Iraq.
Within the small finds, there are tokens and labrets made of clay and
bone and bone perforators. Moreover, loom weights made of clay and bone
are the archaeological finds establishing the weaving in the settlement.
Pottery
The work at Hakemi Use is yielding a good corpus of Late Neolithic ceramics:
about twenty-five thousand sherds have so far been excavated. The ceramic
studies are still in progress. Presently we divide the pottery from
the site into four main groups: Standard Ware, Dark-Faced Burnished
Ware, Orange Fine Ware, and Fine Ware. These four, however can be sub
divided according to surface treatment and decoration.
